Grigor Abelian of Broomall, PA, was among the graduates recognized during University of the Sciences' 196th commencement celebration on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, in Philadelphia, Pa.

Abelian graduated summa cum laude with a doctor of pharmacy degree . The University's valedictorian, he was a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, National Honor Society for First-Year Students, and Rho Chi, National Honor Society of Pharmacy. He received the Alumni Association Awards presented to the graduating student from each college with the highest grade point average; the Merck Awards, the current Merck publications, given by Merck & Co., Inc., to PharmD candidates for academic achievement; and the Hyman C. Bogash Drug Salesmen's Association of Pennsylvania Award given to a PharmD candidate for proficiency in pharmacy administration and intent on a career in the pharmaceutical industry.
