King of Prussia Resident Earns USciences' Founders' Day Award of Merit

The Worcester native was lauded for his research contributions

Philadelphia, PA (03/09/2020) — An outstanding graduate researcher whose work to research cancer led to numerous publications, Nicolas Cope PhD'20 (biochemistry) was presented the 2020 Graduate Student Award of Merit during University of the Sciences' 199th Founders' Day Ceremony on Thursday, Feb. 13, 2020.

On the same day, Cope also defended his thesis entitled "Elucidating the Regulatory Hotspots of Full-length BRAF Through Enzymological Analyses." His work has been published in four separate peer-reviewed journals and numerous presentations at national meetings.

Cope, who is originally from Worcester, Pennsylvania, is a PhD student in biochemistry who resides in King of Prussia with his wife, Kaycee, and sons Jackson and Oliver.

Each year, Founders' Day at USciences recognizes its establishment on Feb. 23, 1821, as Philadelphia College of Pharmacy-the first college of pharmacy in North America, which is now a part of USciences.
